Home Sweet Home in cake

So we get a call from Joan and she tells us that her son just bought his first house and that she would like a cake made to look like his new home -- can we do it? Sure!!!

Thanks for letting us be a part of your celebration, Joan. Congrats on the new home!!

We received this wonderful picture and an amazing email after the party --

Kelly –

Thank you for the cake. My son liked it so much the party went on and on for hours and we kept saying “Cut the cake?” “Cut the cake!” and he kept saying… not yet… FINALLY we got him to do it… the problem was he was trying to get everyone to leave because he DIDN”T want to cut it… he wanted to keep it as is!

We picked at the icing on the roof and said it was hail damage… very funny… We laughed at him and made him cut into it! It was hilarious.. people were fighting over who got the garage door and who wanted some of the living room. Kids were fighting over the bushes and I wanted that little sprinkler but my son’s girlfriend beat me to it and that laughed at me!!! It was SO MUCH fun. When they found out the roof was rice-crispies and icing they put that right away in the fridge to hog later for themselves!

Thank you very much!!!
Joan

Monkey Love, Puerto Rico Style

Other than the "Twilight" cake, our most commented-on cake is "Monkey Love". This cake was done for a contest here in Austin in 2008.

On this particular cake, Vickey & Lawrence -- the monkey couple -- are made of fondant. The large bow is also fondant.

After many requests for the monkeys, we decided to make them out of polymer clay so that they could be shipped. We have made several of these monkeys and shipped them all over the States, now we have a couple that are about to leave the States.

Our newest pair will be traveling to Puerto Rico for a beach wedding!! They will be taking with them three little monkeys that were modeled after the monkey on our Jungle Cake. We wish you monkeys safe travels. We can't wait to see pictures of the beautiful beach wedding!!

Here is the happy wedding party:

Día de los Muertos Cupcake Wedding

Skulls. Wrestlers. Bright Colors. Day of the Dead Wedding.
Pamela & Miguel were married earlier this month at the Zilker Clubhouse. For their wedding cake, they chose cupcakes with skulls and flowers. It was a perfect match to the decor. I can say when looking over the pictures, this looked like a really FUN wedding.
Congrats!!

Rare Wedding Show

So way back on February 19, 2009, we were a vendor at The Rare Wedding Show at The Texas Women's Federation Mansion in Austin. Beautiful!!

We met many lovely brides-to-be at the event.
For those that we have already met with for a tasting and consult, thank you. For those we have not met with yet, we are looking forward to it. For the other brides-to-be, we'd love to set up an appointment. Give us a call or drop us an email.

For our cake samples, we had vanilla with a strawberry filling and a chocolate brownie with cream cheese. We also had our Sugar Cookie Favors. We love these! Pretty and Yummy!

This is Rachel, baker and decorator. She LOVES sugar cookies. She took time for a cookie break at the show.

Blackjack Table Cake

Kristin decided to surprise her husband, Don, with a special cake for his birthday. The DK Ranch owners had decided on Blackjack for their party. Sweet Austin combined the game and their logo for an interesting cake.

Kristin said, "Again, the cake was a huge hit
and fabulous!"

Thanks! We hope your birthday was a great time!!

Todd and his Leopard Thong cake

I do not usually do any sort of risque cakes. I understand that this is on the milder side of risque but it still a cake that would some out there blush.

Here is the story behind this leopard thong....

The guy in the picture down there is Todd. He is my brother-in-law. For as long as I have known him he has always offered to show up at any family gathering in his leopard thong. So far we have not taken him up on the offer and so far he has not done it. We hope this trend continues.

For his birthday, we thought it would be funny and all too fitting to show up with a leopard thong.

Happy Birthday, Todd!

Sweet Sixteen and Skulls!

Sweet Skulls, that is. Katrise celebrated her Sweet 16 in a girly-but-not-too-girly style.

After her surprise birthday dinner at Olive Garden, she ended her meal with a slice of Vanilla Cake with Cream Cheese Filling and Sliced Fresh Strawberries.

Happy Birthday, Katrise!

My Little Pony Cake

Destanee just turned three

What could her cake be?

Of course, My Little Pony!

Ok, maybe I am not a poet but I think Destanee liked

her My Little Pony Cake.
Toishyra, her Mom, had this to say --

"I just wanted to tell you thank you so much for being a part of my daughter's 3rd party. It was a huge success! Everyone loved her cake."

Looks like Destanee even got to ride a pony!
Happy Birthday!

Twilight Cake

Due to the popularity of the Twilight Series, our most requested cake is our Twilight Cake.

Too bad we do not ship our cakes because we have had requests as far away as Alaska!

We finally got a local request from Megan's Mom, Kelly.

"We had so much fun at the party. Everyone just freaked out when they saw the cake!!!"

It looks like they had a great time!! Happy Birthday, Megan! Here is a great pic of the birthday girl. Being on Team Edward, we had to include the picture of him with the cake.

A cake for Edward, we wish!!
